Adelaide is the most liveable city in Australia, according to The Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Liveability Index 2021.
Ranking third in the world, Adelaide’s reputation as a safe and sustainable city was reinforced by the ranking, awarded perfect scores for healthcare and education, and highly rated for stability and infrastructure.
The Economist Index ranks 140 cities across the world based on the five categories of stability, healthcare, education, culture and environment, and infrastructure.
Four of the top 10 cities are Australian, with the report attributing the strong showing to the nation's COVID-19 response.
